BANKING
The real possibility of Governments in Europe defaulting will have a serious impact on UK banks. RBS, BOS and Lloyds TSB are still weakened after the 2008 subprime debacle. There is a real possibility that these UK banks won’t be able to meet the losses that would crystallize if the Euro fails.
Last year I left RBS and moved to the Clydesdale Bank. The Clydesdale is 100% owned by NAB (National Australia Bank). It is the most liquid of the High Street banks. I believe it is a safer home for company funds than the exposed UK banks. Moving bank is a lot easier than it used to be.
